How to Use

RECIPE Picture John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ playing in your head as you go. Start with 14g of medium-ground coffee per cup — try the Wanderoo, Potter Wasp, Otter, or Kaati. Use water off the boil, just enough to wet the grounds. Stir the coffee vigorously for at least 15 seconds. Pour in hot water until you reach the top — around 200g, but trust the process. Stir again, this time with a bit of passion. Wet your filter with hot water to remove any lingering taste. Screw the top on with the filter neatly placed inside. Hum or croon the next few lines, then flip the AeroPress® onto your mug. Press down smoothly and gently, no jerky motions. And hey, if you’re on the road, tag us @blackbazacoffee!

CARE Once you're done, rinse the filter with hot water. You can hand wash with soap.

ORIGIN The AeroPress® was invented in 2005 by Alan Adler, a retired Stanford engineering lecturer and the creator of the Aerobie flying ring. Since its launch, the way we filter coffee with it has evolved — from classic paper filters to reusable cloth, and now, sleek metal filters.

FAQs

Have questions? We’ve got answers! Here are some of the questions people have had about AeroPress Metal Filter. If you have more, check out our FAQs page or feel free to contact us!

What’s the benefit of using a stainless steel filter over paper filters? -

Stainless steel filters allow more of the coffee’s natural oils and fine particles to pass through, resulting in a fuller-bodied cup with a richer mouthfeel. Plus, they’re reusable, eco-friendly, and reduce waste compared to single-use paper filters.

How do I clean and maintain the metal filter? -

Simply rinse the filter under warm water after each use. For a deeper clean, you can occasionally soak it in warm water with mild soap or use a mix of water and vinegar to remove any residue. Be sure to dry it thoroughly before storing

Will this metal filter work with all AeroPress models? -

Yes, this stainless steel filter is compatible with both the original AeroPress and the AeroPress Go. It fits snugly in the filter cap and works just like a paper filter—only reusable.
